You cannot add any text or links over the image or disable the parallax effect. The featured image will display the image in full width (spans across the browser) with a height of 250 pixels and the parallax effect. If both the featured image and featured content are used, the featured image will display above the featured content. WordPress also has a functionality called Featured Image that will appear in the same area as the Featured Content. To add line breaks to your content, use the HTML code. Any styling will have to be done with HTML. Notice: The featured content area meta boxes are not a Visual Editor. To add shortcodes, select your shortcode from the dropdown menu on the Visual Editor Toolbar.Ĭopy the shortcode from the body content box and place it into the meta box. The Bottom Content will place content below the body content of a page or post. The Featured Content will place content above the body content of a page or post. They both work similarly the only difference is their placement on the page. To add featured content, place your content or shortcode in the Featured Content or the Bottom Content meta box when editing a page or post. The Bottom Content will display underneath the body content on a page and above the footer. This Featured Content area has a Full Width Background Video Section with text. The Featured Content will display underneath the navigation bar and above any body content on a page. These two areas are full width sections (meaning they will span the entire area from the left edge of the browser to the right edge) that work well with Full Width Section shortcodes, images, sliders, or map shortcodes. See the example demo sites for examples on what to use with the featured content areas. Please note: we recommend creating a duplicate copy of your theme first in order to ensure no mistakes are made to the live version. There are two areas to place featured content. If you find the need to make small adjustments to these areas, you can try adding some custom CSS to the bottom of the file (Online store > Themes > Actions > Edit code > Assets > ) and play around with the values – 12px is what is currently applied. The 'Logo top padding' and ' Menu top padding' settings have been removed in the 6.0.3 release to provide a more consistent and reliable Header layout. You can use this setting to push your content further down to page so that it's not obstructed by a large navigation bar. If your navigation bar becomes quite tall (either from a large logo or several links), then it might start to cover your main content. The content area refers to the entire section below the main navigation bar. This setting is found in the following themes: Retina, Parallax If your logo is fairly tall, you may want to push down your menu a bit to be centered with the logo. If you find that your logo is small and not naturally inline with your menu, you can add some padding above the logo to nudge it's position a bit lower. This setting is found in the following themes: Retina, Parallax, Mobilia From the Header section in the Theme Editor (customize > sections > header), there are 3 values that allow you to fine-tune the spacing around your logo, navigation, and the page content that appears below the navigation bar.
